Brainspotting Intensives
Online and In Western North Carolina

Brainspotting intensives offer an extended format for trauma therapy, allowing more time for focused processing and integration than a standard weekly therapy session. They may be a good fit for people who feel stuck despite years of insight or talk therapy, those navigating developmental or complex trauma, or anyone who wants dedicated time to work through persistent emotional patterns.

Rather than rushing the healing process, intensives create space for deeper therapeutic work at a pace that respects your needs, nervous system, and capacity for processing. Depending on your goals, an intensive may serve as a primary form of therapy, complement work with your existing therapist, or provide focused support around a particular concern.

We offer half-day intensives online or in person in Black Mountain, North Carolina, as well as extended one- and two-day experiences in a private, fully furnished bungalow with long-range mountain views, approximately 30 minutes from Asheville.

Who Might Benefit From a Brainspotting Intensive?

Brainspotting intensives may be worth exploring if you're looking for focused time to work on concerns such as:
- Developmental trauma and childhood experiences that continue to affect adult life
- Complex trauma and persistent emotional or relational patterns
- Anxiety, chronic stress, and panic responses
- Perfectionism, overfunctioning, and burnout
- Feeling stuck despite insight or years of traditional talk therapy
- Creative blocks or performance anxiety
- Major life transitions and shifts in identity
- The emotional impact of helping professions or repeated exposure to others' trauma

How Does an Intensive Fit Into My Healing Journey

Brainspotting intensives can be used in different ways depending on your needs, schedule, and existing therapeutic support. During an initial consultation, we can explore which approach may be the best fit.

Option One: Primary Therapy

Some clients choose to use intensives as their primary form of therapy rather than attending weekly sessions. They may schedule monthly or every-other-month intensives, with follow-up integration, or additional hour-long sessions as needed between appointments.

This option can be good for clients who:

   - Travel frequently or have difficulty attending therapy regularly
    - Want dedicated time for focused trauma work
    - Prefer less frequent, extended sessions over traditional weekly appointments

Option Two: Intensive Work Alongside Your Existing Therapist

You don't necessarily have to choose between working with your current therapist and participating in an intensive. Many clients continue their regular therapy while using intensives for additional focused work.

With your permission, we can collaborate with your existing therapist to support coordination of care and help integrate the work into your ongoing therapeutic process.

Option Three: Focused or One-Time Support

Some people seek an intensive around a particular concern, difficult experience, or period of transition. Others want to dedicate time to an issue they've been working through for a while.

A one-time intensive can provide focused therapeutic space, with the understanding that meaningful processing and integration may continue afterward. Additional sessions can be arranged if needed.
