FAQs
Ask Us A Question!
Do you take insurance?
We're not in network with any insurance companies and are considered an Out of Network provider. In order to best preserve the confidentiality and client centeredness of treatment, we don't correspond with your insurance company at all. This also means that a diagnosis is not required to receive care. We do issue superbills upon request for you to submit for possible out of network reimbursement and we accept HSA/FSA cards.
How much do sessions cost?
Fees will vary by therapist, but they range from $175-$300 per hour-long session. Intake sessions (the very first appointment) are more complex and slightly higher in cost that first time. During our consultation call we'll go over all cost-related details.
What is a superbill?
A superbill is basically a receipt for fees paid for our services. It includes all of our information that is necessary for your insurance provider to file a claim for services provided. If you have out of network coverage through your insurance, the fees paid for our services may go toward your deductible and depending on your coverage details, you may be able to receive some amount of reimbursement back for fees paid to us. We issue superbills once per month and then you can use the superbill to file a claim with your insurance provider.
How often will we meet?
As trauma therapists, we truly understand the necessity for a trusting relationship. That being said, we'll start by meeting either weekly or every other week. As we go along, we'll work together to find the frequency that feels the best for what you need and where you are.
How long does therapy usually last?
That depends on what you're working on. Some people find what they're looking for after just a few months and others stick around for a longer period of time to keep working through the layers. We'll keep that conversation open and transparent along the way.
What is Brainspotting?
Brainspotting is a form of focused mindfulness that targets deeply rooted issues in the brain and body. It combines eye positioning with neurophysiology to resolve stress, trauma, pain, etc. that is deeply embedded within the nervous system. While it can be used for a vast array of issues, it is highly effective for trauma treatment.
What is developmental trauma?
Developmental trauma is the combination of childhood trauma or overwhelming stress that is repetitive and ongoing across the developmental years. The term is often used simultaneously with complex trauma or CPTSD and while they are quite similar, there are also differences. Developmental trauma is ongoing overwhelmingly stressful experiences that occur in childhood and formative adolescent years. Complex trauma is also characterized by ongoing overwhelming stress, but it can occur at any point in someone's life. Developmental trauma is exclusive to experiences that have impacted the brain and nervous system at peak developmental periods, so challenges like building and maintaining trust in relationships, self-soothing in healthy ways, and developing a healthy sense of self are compromised at a nervous system level.
